Banner’s Wireless Battery-Powered 3-Axis Vibration Monitoring delivers vital machine health insights from across a facility, combining advanced vibration monitoring with the ease and flexibility of wireless, battery-powered connectivity. The Q45VA3C is an all-in-one fully integrated sensor and wireless radio device, powered by a C-cell battery, combined inside a rugged IP67-rated housing. Easily installed using magnetic or epoxy mounts, it is the go-to solution for most rotating equipment. Similarly, the Q45VT3 is a radio powered by a D-cell battery, but connects via an M12 cordset to a QM30VT3 3-axis vibration sensor (sold separately). This allows the sensor to be mounted directly on the motor or other equipment, remotely locating the node when space is constrained.

Both the Q45VA3C and Q45VT3 deliver reliable performance coupled with seamless integration.

More than 24 months of battery life and efficient, low-power operation means minimal maintenance is needed, and adjustable reporting intervals can further extend battery life. Available in 900 MHz or 2.4 GHz (depending on model), these provide regional and site-specific RF compatibility. They are compatible with all Banner MultiHop gateways, including the DXM1200-X2R2 which allows users to connect both wireless and wired condition monitoring sensors to one gateway. Built on established vibration sensing technology, they leverage the proven performance of Banner’s QM30VT3 sensor, using true three-axis measurement to deliver actionable insights across the X, Y, and Z vibration axes.

Advanced analysis modes use this measurement data to help detect emerging failures earlier: adjustable frequency max (FMax) allows fine-tuning of resolution to catch faults on both high- and low-speed machinery, while high frequency enveloping (HFE) filters out low-frequency noise to isolate early-state bearing and lubrication issues.

Whether using the all-in-one Q45VA3C or the Q45VT3 radio with a connected QM30VT3 sensor, each solution offers the right balance of measurement precision, placement flexibility, and low-maintenance operation for ongoing machine health insight.

Battery Power Simplifies Installation

Battery-powered sensors are well-suited for facility monitoring integration performed by a third part or when a sensor is in a remote location where running power is difficult. As shown above, multiple QM30VT3 vibration sensors are battery-powered: three wireless all-in-one devices (Q45VA3C) combine the sensor with a multihop radio and battery power in a single housing, while two sensors are connected to separate multihop radios (Q45VT3). Data is sent wirelessly via radio to a DXM1200-X2R2 controller, to which line-powered vibration sensors are also directly connected.
