OKW adds higher-rated pressure compensation elements to its range of enclosure accessories

OKW has unveiled new IP 66, IP 69 pressure compensation elements to help protect electronics in challenging environments. They are ideal for enclosures such as SOLID-BOX (IP 66, IP 67, IK 08) and SMART-BOX (IP 66).

Pressure compensation elements help to safeguard components in sealed enclosures from temperature changes (that can cause moisture-rich air inside the housing to condense) and negative pressure (that can lead to water and dust being drawn in through the seal).

OKW has added four new M12 x 1.5 (IP 66, IP 69) pressure compensation elements to its range, supplementing the existing M6 x 0.75 (IP 56) and M10 x 1.0 (IP 56) products.

Two of the new M12 elements feature a water- and oil-repellent PES membrane: theoretical airflow rate (RQ) 10 l/h (0.07 bar); water ingress point > 0.83 bar (dynamic WEP 30 seconds); temperature range -40°C/+100°C.

The other two are high-airflow elements with a water- and oil-repellent PTFE membrane: theoretical airflow rate (RQ) 24 l/h (0.07 bar); water ingress point > 0.2 bar (dynamic WEP 30 seconds); temperature range -40°C/+100°C.

All four new elements are molded from PA 6 (UL 94 V-0) in light gray (RAL 7035) and black (RAL 9005) as standard. Each is supplied with a sealing ring. Lock nuts are available on request.

The existing M6 and M10 elements are supplied with both a seal washer and a lock nut.
