AB-CO PURGE is a Limited Liability Corporation headquartered in Amherst (Buffalo area), New York. The company manufactures purge and pressurization systems used with electrical enclosures in both classified hazardous locations and non-hazardous locations.

AB-CO PURGE has been in business for 40 years. It originally started as a manufacturing and sales organization in Houston, Texas, providing purge and pressurization systems to electrical panel shops, system integrators, and OEM’s, who supported end users in the upstream and midstream oil and gas market, the petro-chemical market, and bulk material handling market. The original sales channel consisted of company direct sales personnel focusing on the Gulf Coast area. In addition, sales expanded into the bulk material handling sector as a result of a sister company, Material Handling and Control.

For the first 35 years, AB-CO PURGE experienced sustained but limited growth due to the fact that the company’s products carried FM approval but not UL certification. In 2015, the company’s implemented a growth strategy requiring the addition of both UL certification for all it’s purge and pressurization products and a North American focused sales representative based sales channel. Today, all AB-CO PURGE purge and pressurization products are both UL certified (US and Canada) and FM approved. The company’s sales channel consists of professional sales representative organizations located throughout the United States with current activities focused on adding more sales rep organizations in the US and Canada. All AB-CO PURGE sales rep organizations are exclusive to their respective territories and carry a complete line of complimentary products used in the industrial controls business.

In order to facilitate growing demand for it’s product, in 2016, the company relocated manufacturing and administration from Houston, Texas, to Amherst, New York. AB-CO PURGE still maintains a service and support office in the Houston, Texas, area.
