Littelfuse: Short Circuit Current Ratings
The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) elected Michael Plaster, Lead Business Manager for ABB Electrification in the United States, to its Board of Governors. Plaster has been an executive leader with ABB for 15 years including roles in Utility, Construction, and Industrial markets. He has a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree from Purdue University and a Master’s in Business Administration degree from Butler University.
One of the first lessons new electricians learn is that electricity will always look for the path of least resistance to get to the ground. The terms grounding and bonding are used every day by electricians, maintenance engineers and technicians. While they seem interchangeable, they are actually two distinct electrical installation protocols when it comes to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and installing electrical equipment. Regional Sales Manager Warren Lyles discusses this topic from questions he has heard in the field.
The rapid growth in e-commerce and a continued skilled labor shortage are two of the hottest topics for today’s material handlers, particularly when it comes to maximizing growth opportunities and securing a larger market share in the material handling space. The sheer volume of parcels in the pipeline means material handlers need smarter, more powerful conveyor and sorting systems, and, as a result, this means identifying more versatile industrial enclosures that offer a wider range of panel and cable configurations.
In this blog article, you will learn why UPS systems are indispensable for ensuring a reliable and stable power supply in critical infrastructures, which components are needed for this, and which standards they must meet. In the past 100 years, electricity has always flowed in one direction – from the producer to the consumer. However, new technologies, innovative ways of energy procurement and generation, as well as comprehensive digitalisation, are fundamentally changing the market.
Halogen-free cables are a required staple in a vast number of industrial and infrastructural applications. Over time, different labels for these cables have been established, such as FRNC, HFFR, LS0H, or LSZH. But how meaningful are these abbreviations, and what are the benefits of halogen-free cables compared to products containing halogens? Halogens (which means “to form salt”) include the chemical elements chlorine (Cl), bromine (Br), fluorine (F), and iodine (I). When manufacturing cables, these are used to make certain conductor insulation and jacketing materials flame retardant.
What drives the requirement for accurate, high-quality labels? With so much hanging in the balance for manufacturers and retailers competing on a global scale, there’s no good reason to ignore the need for label quality. Mislabeled packaging could have consequences that range from wasted product to (potentially severe) consumer health issues.

This webinar presented by Beth Lessard and Keith Cordero will be highlighting three Panduit solutions that will optimize network equipment and cabling to ensure that your spaces are efficiently and properly managed to support ever-evolving business needs of today and beyond. Products that will be featured include PanZone TrueEdge Wall Mount Enclsoure, Cable Managers, and Adjustable Depth 4-Post Rack.

The Siemens SIMOVAC medium-voltage non-arc-resistant and SIMOVAC-AR arc-resistant controllers have a modular design incorporating up to two 12SVC400 (400 A) controllers, housed in a freestanding sheet steel enclosure. Each controller is UL 347 class E2, equipped with three current-limiting fuses, a non-load-break isolating switch, and a fixed-mounted vacuum contactor (plug-in type optional for 12SVC400). The enclosure is designed for front access, allowing the equipment to be located with the rear of the equipment close to a non-combustible wall.

Power is vital to production, and well-designed control cabinets are key. Allied Electronics & Automation offers a comprehensive collection of control cabinet solutions including PLCs, HMIs, contactors, miniature circuit breakers, terminal block connectors, DIN-rail power supplies, pushbutton switches, motor starters, overloads, power relays, industrial Ethernet switches and AC drives engineered to keep your operations running safely, reliably and efficiently.

The OMRON S8NR Series is an IP67 rated industrial power supply designed for out of panel installation in harsh environments where dust, moisture, vibration, and accessibility challenges impact reliability. By moving the power supply outside the control panel, S8NR reduces enclosure complexity, electrical labor, and service time while maintaining stable, protected DC power delivery. Read More…

In power distribution, heavy-duty machinery and transportation applications, vibrations can weaken a terminal block’s clamping power and loosen wire connections. The resulting power and signal failures can lead to unwanted system downtime, fire and shock risks, or other safety issues. Fortunately, one type of terminal block design makes secure connections possible while also providing easy… Read More…
