Crystal Display Systems (CDS) has launched a 8.01″ Flexible AMOLED display, a technological innovation designed to meet the growing demand for versatile, high-performance display solutions across various industrial sectors.

The Evolution of Display Technology

Flexible AMOLED technology represents a significant advancement in display design, replacing traditional rigid glass substrates with flexible polyimide films. This transition allows the displays to bend, fold, and roll without compromising performance. Unlike conventional displays, Flexible AMOLED technology retains the core benefits of AMOLED—such as self-emissive pixels, high contrast ratios, and vibrant colors—while introducing superior mechanical flexibility and enhanced durability.

Technical Advantages

The display utilizes self-emissive pixels, eliminating the need for a backlight. As a result, it delivers exceptional contrast and vibrant colours while reducing power consumption—critical for battery-operated devices. The polyimide substrate provides both flexibility and increased resistance to mechanical stress, ensuring long-term reliability even in demanding applications.
