MENNEKES: SDS Series Stainless Steel Motor Disconnect Switch

June 26, 2023

The SDS Series of motor disconnects from MENNEKES offer a cost-effective way to transition from non-metallic to stainless steel disconnects, which are designed to excel in harsh environments. These units even match Hubbell HBLDS3 and HBLDS3AC footprints, making the upgrade process quick and easy.

Thanks to its durable stainless steel construction, the SDS Series features superior corrosion and impact resistance for demanding operating conditions. These metallic enclosures also withstand rigorous washdown cycles, making them a popular choice in high-traffic, end-of-line packaging, manufacturing and pharmaceutical applications where sanitation is critical.

SDS Series Features and Benefits

SDS disconnects have a sleek, hygienic design that promotes the cleanliness of your installation. Units integrate captive cover screws and a highly visible handle that minimizes harborage and meets OSHA and lockout-tagout (LO/TO) requirements. Rated 30, 60 and 100 Amps, these disconnects include feet and are available in two compact enclosure sizes. They also offer generous wire bending space to facilitate installation.

Other features include:

  • One-inch stand-off external mounting feet
  • Hole size allows 1/4-inch mounting hardware
  • Six-pole options for two-speed or reversing motors
  • IP69K and UL Type 4X rating
  • One-piece punched EPDM gasket
  • Replaceable DIN rail mounted switch
  • Early break and late make auxiliary contacts
  • SCCR @65kAIC RMS Symmetrical Rating with Class J Fusing

The SDS Series naturally complements the MENNEKES SPEC Grade stainless steel enclosures and CDS non-metallic disconnects.
